Syria is getting a new constitution

If President Assad plays fair and writes a balances constitution that protects relgious minorities it would enable his parliament to lawfully impeach if teh UN condemn him and thus allow a dialogue situation out of conflict similar to the impeachment of President Clinton in the 1990s.

Assad could then get exile rather than civil war

Mosque Vandalism in teh Holy Land condemned by a Rabbi

Mosque vandalism in the Holy Land condemned by a Rabbi
There has been a mosque burned down in Israel / Paelstine. It has been condemned by all faith leaders and teh relevant interfaith forum of Israels head, Rabbi Ron Kronish in a press release.Pardon my taking his name for a moment but for Gods sake don't let this descend into an intifada with tit for tat reprisals.

The Palestinians have accepted in an interview today on Russia Today teh need only to have East Jerusalem and 'two capitals side by side.'As an Anglican Christian and soemone who has studied regional / national / capital government I think on practical grounds both states will need to cooperate to prevent any Berlin farce like situations from the Cold War.

Ideally to prevent border walls going through places of worship the territories of Bethlehem Ramallah and Jerusalem should in my opinion be a common metropolitan area. However that is for the peoples of Israel and Palestine to decide based on the recommendations and elected mandates of their governments.

Palestine recognises Israels right to exist

Today in an exclusive interview with Russia Today, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel was recognised as a state but not on occupied land.

So does this mean that Fatah has finally persuaded Hamas to remove the offending clause in its constitution about Israel like the IRa did and the Irish People in the 26 counties of the Republic by refernedum from their constitution agreed at Stormont by the Good Friday agreement.

If so then the Palestinian states constitution could allow religious minorities like Israels and other democracies and thus resolve teh status of remaining settlers as dual nationals, allowed to all people of teh world under international law.

That still leaves the status of Jerusalem and Bethlehem and Ramallah. If teh East Jerusalem new houses (100 in total) became diplomat housing or were let to the Palestinian Authority to fund the 'Jewish Palestinians' remaining in Palestine as allowed under international law then its a good idea. If teh Palestinians don't want them there then they can buy them off them when they get East Jerusalem or put through planning laws and nationalise them as part of a united municipality after a peace agreement has been reached. Direct action is counterproductive and could risk a third intifada.

Lybia

Today the Red Cross has got hpspital aid into Sirte, the remaining stronghold of Colonel Gadaffic in a country where he has been overthrown. There is an aid crisis for food and energy causing teh civilian population to flee the area as well.

Fact check

The Lybian Transitional council (LTC) has now been recognised by the UN, IMF, EU and most national governments.

Gadaffis assets have been seized overseas and directed towards the aid effort where this is allowed under national law and international guidelines under jurisprudence.

Most of his senior staff has either fled with the nations Gold reserves to neighbouring countries or defected to the LTC and other countries.

Therefore in short in the interests of peace between the countries and to avert further civilian life it is better for his forces to surrender. then a united Lybia at the uN can make the efforts needed for a peaceful Palestinian state rejecting extremist rhetoric and the removal of nuclear weapons from the world from teh position of strength that democracy brings to counterbalance aid to Israel from the US. That would be the best mitigation for Gadaffi when he faces the Hague Court for his crimes.

LYbians could then even be human rights observers in Syria, Bahrain and Lebanon as well as Pa.lestine whatever their faith and especially if they're Christian

Tri city area as a suggestion for bilateral negotiation

Personally teh tri city are of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Ramallah is teh prefferred option in my mind as then a common security force / police for ametropolitan area similar to European Cities could develop to provide equal security for both legislatures and teh Holy sites of all three faiths.

James Ware
The BBC website has said that Obamas CVairo speech about chnge in teh Arab world may only be a speech.

That is why if the UN Palestinian vote is a majority but US vetoes it on the grounds that first borders and unresolved matters have to be resolved through mediated bilateral negotiation the US and allies in teh Quartet have to develop clear plans and draft commuiques as a basis for negotiatio, higghlighting teh problems already encountered on each issue.

If I were them I'd publish them on teh web as well in English, French, Arabic and Hebrew (amongst other laguages) to reflect previous mandates and teh majority indignous languages.
